With thanksgiving just around the corner for my American friends, it's a time to step back and look at my own life and what I am thankful for. I am English, so have never recognized this holiday, but since moving to Canada I have realized what a joyous and lovely day it can be  with friends and family.

I am thankful for my friends and family. Even though I am a million miles away, we still talk everyday and make sure we set aside time to properly connect. I know everyone feels this way, but my family & friends are the best in the world and I am thankful for their love, friendship and support every single day.

I am thankful for my fiancé. My inspiration, my soul mate and my best friend - he continues to fill my life with so much happiness, and I am in awe of his view of this world and his tenacity to follow his dream. He is my everything and I am thankful that in 7 months I get to call him my husband.

I am thankful for life. I am so grateful that I wake up everyday and get to live an amazing life. Even though, like everyone else, I get stressed, overwhelmed and sad sometimes. I am so blessed with a beautiful life that I am lucky to live everyday.

What are you thankful for this thanksgiving?

Happy friday!

Happy Friday everyone. I am so happy it is the weekend. It's been a busy, busy week over here at Little Me Paper Co. Lots of holiday orders have started to come in, everyone is so organized! I had lots of orders for the above Erin Hanson quote~ it serves as a perfect reminder to keep challenging myself and to always shoot for the stars.  Thanks Erin for writing such a beautiful poem.

Adam and I are having a quiet weekend, we are thinking about going to see Interstellar, parts of it were filmed here in Calgary! It's always fun to see places you know on the big screen.

What are your weekend plans?

Write it down

I am a HUGE to-do list fan. Ok, make that a super-fan. I don't think there is anything better than listing out what you need to do, then proudly ticking them off one by one.   I am proud as punch when I 'win' a to-do list, it is one of the best feeling ever. It somehow organizes your brain and makes those 'busy' days/weeks less daunting (& a little more fun!)

I organize my Etsy orders using my trusty Rifle Paper Co weekly planner. It helps me organize my open orders, and ensures I get everything out on time. It has been my saving grace as the holiday season begins to pick up. I have tried using my iphone as a to-do list, but it has never really worked out for me. So I tend to stick to the good ol' pen and paper technique.

I also swear by my little moleskine notebook (which I keep in my handbag, always) to jot down ideas that I have in the day time when I am out. I write down my favorite quotes, new illustration ideas and things I need to remember when I get home.

I just really like to write little lists.

What's on your to-do list?

{Strawberry & Pecan Salad}

♥Handful of strawberries
♥Sprinkling of Stevia

The Dressing:

♥Balsamic Vinegar
♥Olive Oil
♥Pinch of salt and pepper

What you do:

♥Toss together the Spinach and the cherry tomatoes (you can half them if you like).
♥ Peel the Satsuma, and cut into half inch segments, add these to the spinach and tomato's.
♥Quarter your strawberries, add these to the salad mix
♥Heat a small frying pan on medium low heat with a tiny bit of oil, add in your pecans, toast until golden brown. Then sprinkle over the Stevia.
♥Add pecans to salad mix, and then spring over feta cheese.

{I'm easy like Sunday morning}

Weekends come and go so fast don't they? It's been a busy weekend in my world - catching up on christmas orders (some people are so organized with their christmas shopping) and designing some new goodies to put in my Etsy shop. It's been a busy month, and I'm excited to be heading into November which should be even busier (fingers crossed). I am feeling so grateful to be doing what I love everyday & i'm so glad I get to share this adventure with my fiancé, who is also starting his own business - a mis-matched sock company none the less...More on that later.

Anyways, happy Monday everyone - have a great start to your week and I'll check in again in the next couple of days.

What did you do this weekend??
